Nordisk event i maj i netværksgruppe for biomaterialer

  • -

The FiberTies network cordially invites you to a workshop and networking event on May 15th & 16th 2018.

The FiberTies network in collaboration with the InnoBYG network cluster for Biomass: welcomes companies and institutions who are interested in participating in project meeting with all partners at the partner institute VTT, Espoo, Finland. The purpose of this meeting is to establish one or more project groups for a large grant application. The focus will be on new possibilities, alternative materials, interesting products and business development in the area of biobased fibers.

The event extends over two days with different themes, with talks and presentation of VTT facilities including a tour of the pilot research facilities. Topics include one-material composites, non-woven textiles and functional structures by 3D printing.

Young researchers and PhD students are encouraged to join the project meeting workshop thereby contributing to the discussion on the way forward for more industrial use of non-fossil, non-food biobased fibres. Limited budget for contributions to the travel costs are available.

The deadline for registration is May 1st 2018. Registration is free of charge

For registration and further questions, please contact: Anne Christine S. Hastrup (acha@dti.dk)

Futher info on local transport and hotels:

There is a subway connection to Otaniemi; the metro station is named ‘Aalto university’, and the travelling from Helsinki city centrum/Kamppi to Otaniemi takes only 10 minutes, or 12 minutes from Helsinki city centrum/Railway station. So you can choose any hotel in Helsinki centrum, for example Scandic Simonkenttä or Radisson blue royal.

There is also a hotel in Otaniemi, Radisson blue Espoo, but  I think you might like better to stay in the centrum.

Below is a map to give you understanding where Otaniemi is. Our assistant has now made a preliminary reservation for seminar room in Tekniikantie 1 (marked also in the map).
